Iris Schindler was born in Puerto Rico as the youngest of three sisters, standing out with her striking blond hair while her family had black hair. This unique trait helped her form a special bond with her mother. Iris was very close to her sister Mickie, sharing a love for sports and adventure. They were inseparable, often seen playing baseball with the neighborhood boys and always holding hands in photos. Their oldest sister preferred staying indoors. The Schindler sisters attended Catholic schools throughout their education, from daycare to high school. Their mother worked hard in a factory to provide them with a good education, teaching them the values of hard work and learning.
